Dining and Meal Service
George Derby Centre has full dining service and an in-house Food Services Department that prepares and offers three nutritious meals per day, seven days per week. The daily menu offers our residents a choice of two entrees at each meal. The scheduled meal times and daily menu are posted in each dining room. George Derby Centre prides itself on offering four seasonal menus that contain a variety of delicious meals through each season.

Our residents are welcome to help themselves to juice, water, coffee, tea, and cookies that are available on their living unit at all times. Our residents also enjoy fresh fruit, sandwiches and snacks that are provided each morning and evening.

All special dietary needs or requests should be discussed with the Dietitian or nursing staff who will review and process requests.
Visitors are welcome to join residents for special festive meals. However, we require sufficient notice so that staff can accommodate the additional service. Please make a reservation with the nursing staff or with the kitchen. Visitors may purchase a resident’s guest meal voucher from the receptionist during regular business hours. As part of George Derby Centre’s Quality Improvement Program, we maintain a Residents’ Food Advisory Committee to obtain feedback for suggested improvements to our dining service and menus.
